Ofsted, that is. We've had 'the call' and it's ok because they're not worried about our school so just popping in for the day to see maths lessons - 1 in each year group. And guess who's the 'lucky' one in Year 1? Yes, I'm being visited for maths next Friday. Yippee. Still, it's better that a whole 3 day inspection.
We had a 2 hour training session after school today on bereavment work with children. It was really useful, especially as we have a little girl in school with a terminally ill Dad just now. Did you know a child (5-15) loses a parent every 27 mins. in this country. That's 20,000 a year. And if not given the right support at the time it can lead to much bigger problems as the child gets older. In America they found that 89% of inmates on death row lost a significant person in their life during childhood. I found this really challenging as it is, unfortunately, something I may well have to deal with in the future.
On a brighter note- October 20th - for the big event. Who cares about Ofsted when theres a wedding to plan!

That is an astonishing statistic Sarah- makes you think about future ministry- but also what a key role teachers have and raises questions about how schools should be supported.
I act as staff Chaplin to a local High School, but have never had any questions over issues like this, wonder if it is worth bringing up!
